I know it's very cliche for people to suggest that their street cars “drive like a go-kart”. Cars don't really drive like go-karts.

Because of this, my brand has a place on the leather suit that makes its way around the track. That same track that forty years ago I witnessed racing history. Isn’t it ironic?

Despite not getting on the podium and not being there for the Epic Karaoke session Saturday night, I did go faster and beat my PB from last year and almost broke into the 58 second marker. To be totally honest, LRP Gridlife is becoming my favorite event of the year. It gives me the vibes of Midwest Festival, but without the music and REALLY geared for the automotive enthusiast.

Higher hp cars have limitations on power - but the power can be exploited w/ flatter torque curves so it comes on quicker and stays in the powerband longer. The rain helps to neutralize that difference. Longer endurance stints also limit those advantages as bigger power = more fuel weight loads.

The chaos of a rain race start brings a race within the race as yellow flags are imminent and passing choices are expedited. It’s a delicate balance of playing it safe, finding the wet-line, finding the braking thresholds for varying track conditions while taking advantage of others' insecurities.

I visit Lime Rock every chance I can get, and I caught wind that S2ktakeover had a slot on an EMRA time attack racing weekend; grassroots racing is where it all begins, and seeing a dozen "Honda two-thousands" raging around one of my favorite tracks?

I honestly think I was the only one enjoying the reprieve to take some slower-paced foggy shots of the eerily quiet track. The only thing heard during this red flag condition was radio chatter back to Control Tower regarding who was waving a flag and if the stations could see.
